Chapter 6 - The Final Chapter, Advice From A Lifelong Learner

As I close off on this week, I have a few thoughts that I would like to leave you with. From the start of my journey, and up until now I have discovered a few things along the way.

The first is that as an entrepreneur, there are always a thousand different variables that you need to juggle, regardless of the industry or vertical you are in.

The second thing is that when you set off on your climb to the top, or set off to build something big it is never a simple answer. However as time lapses eventually it becomes easier, and the reason for this is because the longer you stay in the industry the more you learn about that specific industry.

The third is that there are no shortcuts to starting a business, or becoming successful. Get rich quick schemes do not exist, and becoming an overnight success can take up to 15 years. If you look at most of the successful stories out there, they usually take between 5 and 20 years to materialise.

The forth and probably the most important thing to understand, is that hard work is not correlated with success. Yes, hard work is good and it is needed to become successful, but you cannot rely on hard work only. There are people working 8 hours a day digging in bins to make a few dollars to survive, and then there are people working 4 hours a day and making more money than the bottom 4.5 billion people in the world combined make. There are many people out there that work hard and never become successful because they miss out on one primary factor, and that is to constantly be learning and evolving.

In conclusion if there is one take away that I can give you from reading these blog posts, it is that almost everyone on the planet is capable of incredible things, but in order to reach your maximum potential you must not only be willing put in the hard work, but also be willing to constantly learn and improve yourself.

Don’t be scared to try new things because no matter which way you look at it whenever you start doing something new, you are going to suck at it. But, like with anything else the more you do it, the better you become at it.

Remember that if you want to be successful you should always look back at your week, find out what you learned, and figure out how you can become more efficient at what you are doing. Learning is the real key to success, and that comes from courses you do to get better, other people like mentors, and most of all by reading. Always keep in mind that it is a lot more affordable to learn from someone else’s failures than to learn from your own.
