Page 70: The Passion to Conquer

 An entrepreneurial journey.

What do those words mean to you? It’s a topic I've thought about for as long as I can remember.

To me, it’s a heroic journey of self-discovery. And sadly it’s a journey where most people in life only pay attention to the final product of an entrepreneur’s journey. 

I have come to realize that there are a few things that really make a true entrepreneur. Two of those things are passion, and the determination to never give up. Those two things separate the ones that always show up, from the ones who always give up. They are two principles that work hand in hand with one another. Without a burning passion, it’s hard to develop a true determination to never give up.

I understand passion to be a certain strong feeling, or an uncontrollable emotion about something. One of the things that helped me discover my passion was a book called the "Leaderless Revolution: How Ordinary People Will Take Power and Change Politics in the 21st Century", by Carne Ross a former diplomat. Ross outlines the way to find your passion in a few simple steps, he ultimately said there are three ways to find your passion life. 

He said if you can answer these three things, it will help you define your passion. The first thing was, what do you love? The second thing was, what do you hate? And the third thing was, what bothers you?

As I created a list of these things, I took out a different colored pen, and circled the ones that made me feel a strong emotion toward it, almost like it was lighting a fire in my stomach. I was sure to circle the ones I couldn’t stop thinking about. I thought of it like playing a game of tag with my friends. When I was younger I would play tag or stuck in the mud with my friends, because I loved the game. I wasn't playing the game for recognition, and certainly not for money. 

Throughout our lives there isn't just "one" thing you will ever be passionate about. It’s good to understand that when doing this exercise. However, figuring out what your passion is starts with these three things. If you do these three things to find your passion it will be easy for you to find a way to link these three things with the business you wish to start or, the business you are a part of.

 This week I want to talk to you about the power of asking questions. Asking questions must be one of the most important tools any successful entrepreneur has in their arsenal. Simply put, asking the right questions can increase your likely hood of success, and help you connect better with the world around you. The main reason why people feel uncomfortable about asking questions is because they think that there are right and wrong questions, however, this is not the case. Page 95: Learn to Process Issues

In the game of life and entrepreneurship, you are constantly presented with “What if…?” situations. These types of situations can either make or break you as an entrepreneur. In my life I have experienced a multitude of these questions, and I feel like the trick to answering them is to not get intimidated by the question. A lot of the time when we are dealing with certain situations in life, our brains automatically try to reason the situation out, as being either best case or worst case scenarios.
