Chapter one: The first post (I guess I'm a blogger now)
Every great story ever told began with the first word. In this case the word was "every", which is great because I will be posting in my blog "every" week.
When I first read that I should do a blog post reflecting on the work we did for the week a lot of things went through my mind. I am not a social media guru, I mean, I don't even have Facebook and I have never done a blog post before, so its only natural that the first thing that went through my mind was "how am I going to do that!".
I am not someone who usually runs away from my problems, I like to face them head on and come up with manageable steps to solve them. I went back to my initial question of "how am I going to do this?" and really sat with the question. I felt out of sync with the assignment, and felt uneasy because its something new to me. Because this was new to me, I really wanted to feel comfortable with what I was about to do. However, I couldn't find that comfort. In that moment, everything I have ever done in my life came back to me.
Throughout the years I have experienced the most growth and success, from stepping outside of my comfort zone. That is what I am choosing to do here, I am venturing into an unknown space and trusting the process. The real reason anyone starts anything new is because they would like to experience a form of growth they have never experienced before, and that is what I anticipate from doing these blog posts.
I am very optimistic and excited to start this course. One day when I look back to read what I have written and get asked if I could summarize it in one word, the word I will be looking for is "inspiring".
